2026-2027 Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Out-of-State Cost of Attendance (COA)
WUE (Western Undergraduate Exchange) is awarded to incoming students only through the admissions process and is a highly competitive, merit-based tuition discount for qualifying out-of-state students.
Incoming students to Missoula College and those classified as Online-Only are not eligible for the WUE.
Students must apply to the 91次元 by Jan. 15, 2026, to be automatically considered for the WUE award. After that, WUE will be awarded on a space-available basis.
Incoming freshmen from WUE states who have a 3.0 GPA or higher may be eligible for WUE tuition benefits even if applying after January 15th. Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis, dependent on availability and requires submission of a current high school transcript.
Western Undergraduate Exchange Requirements and COA
Award Requirements
A student’s academic major will not affect the awarding process. Students are required to sign up for 15 credits each semester or a total of 30 credits in an academic year (fall, spring, and summer) to receive and maintain the award. The Cost of Attendance is adjusted to reflect a student's actual enrollment status during the final review process. If awarded the WUE award, you are not eligible to receive other non-resident entering student scholarships.
Cost of Attendance
A Western Undergraduate Exchange student's Cost of Attendance (COA) is made up of two different types of costs: direct and indirect. The costs listed below are for a typical academic year (fall semester and spring semester).
Direct costs are items that will appear on the University bills, such as tuition, fees, books, housing and meals (if living on campus).
Indirect costs will not appear on the bill but are estimated costs associated with going to college and should be included in the budget. These include items like transportation and personal expenses.
