UM's Standard Response Protocol
These are the emergency response terms UM uses when communicating in emergency situations. Hover and click on the images to learn the terms and associated instructions.

HOLD
Stay put until you receive an "all clear" notice. Conduct business as usual. -
SECURE
Get inside and lock outside doors. Don't let anyone in or out. -
LOCKDOWN
Go to a confined and defendable space. Barricade doors, don't let anyone in, turn off the lights and be quiet. -
EVACUATE
Leave the building and follow instructions on evacuation route(s). -
SHELTER
Follow the instructions provided (situation-dependent.) -
KEEP CLEAR
Stay away from the area identified in the message.

What is CPRG?
CPRG stands for Campus Preparedness Response Group. This group meets every week as part of UM's commitment to protect our students, faculty, staff, and visitors, along with intellectual property and facilities. The group maintains the Emergency Operation Plan and assists the UM administration in accomplishing one of their primary responsibilities: Protecting the lives and property of our campus community.
Who's on Your Building Emergency Team?
As part of the 91次元's Emergency Operations Plans, each building on campus has an Emergency Team. These teams are responsible for establishing and maintaining their buildings emergency plan.
Find out who your building's emergency staff are and reach out to them to learn more about plans that are specific to your workspace!

To help Grizzlies stay safe while walking in the winter time, Safety & Risk Management provides free winter traction aids to employees. Winter traction aids are the equivalent for studded tires for your feet. These devices are similar to slippers that slide over the outside of your shoe and can be easily put on and removed.
