Special Edition: Winter Weather Reminders
Dear Campus Community,
Welcome to December! We’ve had mild weather so far this fall, but it looks like a pulse of colder weather and snow arrives this week. The National Weather Service has issued a beginning tonight at 8 p.m. and continuing through early afternoon tomorrow. There’s potential for up to 4 inches of snow, but the bigger concern will be the potential for black ice, with melting rain/snow mix and subfreezing temperatures overnight and in the early mornings.
The coldest temperatures of the day during the winter in Missoula often occur in the early morning hours, often between 7-8 a.m., when many of us are commuting to campus for classes and work. Note that when winter conditions are particularly treacherous, we may send a UM Alert (email or text) to provide current information.

Missoula and our surrounding landscapes are stunning under a blanket of fresh snow. Enjoy the season and stay warm and safe!
