Special Edition: Canvas and Other Systems Restored
Dear students, faculty, and staff,
All affected systems and services have now been fully restored following the widespread Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage that began early Monday, October 20, 2025.
As a reminder, this national AWS disruption temporarily impacted several cloud-hosted applications used at UM, including Canvas, Navigate, GrizPortal, Panopto, Amplify, Zoom, and others with AWS dependencies. These services have now resumed normal operation at UM.
Students: If you were unable to submit coursework or assignments in Canvas yesterday, you may do so now. You will not be penalized for late submissions caused by the outage.
If you continue to experience any lingering issues accessing IT systems or cloud-based applications at UM, please submit a ticket to the .
