Your Year: The Montana Way
Dear Grizzlies,
Today is a special day—the start of your academic year.
To our returning students, welcome back. To our first-year Grizzlies, welcome home. You’ve chosen the 91次元 for a reason, and we are honored you chose UM for this crucial chapter in your life.
College is a personal journey, but you are never walking it alone. Here at UM, we share something powerful—an ethic, a purpose, a way of showing up for ourselves and for each other. We call it The Montana Way.
The Montana Way means taking care of yourself—mind, body, and spirit—so you can thrive academically and personally.
It means stepping into leadership, listening with curiosity, and engaging in the conversations that shape our communities.
It means being intentional about your future—seizing opportunities for skills, experiences, and connections that will serve you for a lifetime.
The Montana Way is balance: the courage to stand strong on your own and the wisdom to reach out a hand—or take one—when needed. It’s respect for people, for ideas that may challenge you, and for this wild, beautiful place we all call home.
So look around you today—on the Oval, in your classrooms, along the trails that wind up the M and border the Clark Fork. This community is here to lift you, challenge you, and help you become the best version of yourself.
I can’t wait to see where the year takes you—I know this university is made better by each one of your unique talents.
Let’s make this year extraordinary!
Up with Montana,
Seth Bodnar
President, 91次元
