How to Appeal a Scholarship Decision
The 91次元 recognizes that extenuating circumstances that can warrant a review of an award decision, such as a major change, course changes or unforeseen life events that may have impacted a student's academic performance.
Continuing Student Scholarship Appeals
If you are a current UM students whose scholarship was not renewed, you may appeal that decision by submitting the Scholarship Appeal Form to Student Financial Services.
Student Financial Services will review scholarship appeals for fall semester starting July 1. Spring semester appeals will be reviewed beginning Dec. 1. Appeals must be submitted by the 15th day of the semester in which the student is requesting scholarship reinstatement.
New Student Scholarship Appeals
Admitted students who wish to petition for scholarship reconsideration can submit an appeal through their . Complete the form found under "Optional Checklist Items." Appeals are reviewed monthly. Our financial aid appeal process allows admitted students to ask for a re-evaluation of their merit-based financial aid for a variety of reasons:
- Improved GPA
- Strong extracurricular involvement
- Life events that affected academic performance
- Competing offers
- Special financial circumstances (requires documentation)
