Student Program Assistant

A great paid opportunity to share your passions, develop your cross-cultural communication skills, and enhance your resume in work with international student leaders! The Mansfield Center is proud to host a suite of international programs, and the ones for this upcoming Academic Year look particularly exciting. They include:
- The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Academic Fellow Program which brings twenty student leaders to Montana for one month to study shared natural resource challenges in the Fall and Spring.
- The YSEALI Professional Fellows Program which brings forty young professionals to Montana and the surrounding region for one month to participate in a fellowship at a host organization related to their professional area of expertise.
- The Sports Diplomacy program which brings ten athletes, coaches and influencers from Peru to Montana to learn about coaching and administering running programs.
- An Environmental Education program with students from Tohoku University (in Japan) to learn about environmental issues and natural resource management.
There are additional programs in addition to the ones listed above as well including some programs with a domestic focus.
The Center seeks 6 students at 10-29 hours per week to support field trips throughout Missoula and the region including the Flathead Indian Reservation, Helena, and Glacier National Park, as well as a myriad of administrative/deskwork tasks. These unique positions are particularly appropriate for students interested in international education, public diplomacy, logistic and event planning. We pay $15-17/hour plus expenses for trips beyond Missoula, as well as providing selected student employees with a dedicated workspace in the Mansfield Library. Work would begin at or near the beginning of Fall semester 2025. Candidates are required to have a valid driver’s and be registered for a minimum of 6 credits per semester.
