Honors Course Offerings
Each semester, we offer over 50 honors courses. Honors courses are generally smaller (capped at 20 talented and motivated students) and represent majors from across campus. Honors courses emphasize critical thinking, problem solving, oral, written, and digital communication, research, and community engagement. Some honors courses satisfy general education or major requirements. Students should plan to meet with their major advisor and honors advisor to ensure they have a plan for the timely completion of honors requirements.

Microbiology Major, Biochemistry Minor
“DHC courses in biology, genetics and evolution, and human anatomy taught me a great deal about the mechanistic details of life–cells, proteins, and nucleic acids. DHC courses in literature, ethics, and philosophy taught me a great deal about what it means to live. Both of these perspectives are indispensable in the career of a physician-scientist."
