Faculty Troubleshooting: ODE Portal Issues and Solutions
Logging in
Use your employee NetID (ab123456e). If login fails, confirm you’re using employee credentials. Contact ode@umontana.edu for help.

Outdated letters
If a student presents an old accommodation letter, direct them to submit a semester request through the ODE portal. Students can find step-by-step instructions on the ODE website.
Missing letters
If a student appears in your Enrolled Students tab but no letter is available, email ode@umontana.edu. This may happen if you were added in Banner after letters were sent. In the meantime, please honor the accommodations shown in the ODE portal.
Not receiving notifications/not assigned
Only instructors of record listed in Banner (SSASECT/Course Search) are assigned in the ODE portal. If you are not listed correctly, contact the Registrar’s Office. TAs, GAs, and others assigned in Banner as instructors of record must also review and sign letters in the ODE portal.
“Signing” letters
By signing in the ODE portal, you confirm you’ve reviewed and acknowledged the letter and understand the steps to take, including contacting ODE with questions.
After reviewing each letter in the ODE portal, faculty will see the following prompt:
By signing below, you acknowledge receipt of this accommodation letter and you understand the appropriate steps to take, including reaching out to ODE if you have any questions.
