Fall Semester 2026

Important Dates
Date(s) Event Details
August 17, 2026 Move-In Residence Halls officially open for Fall Semester. Students will be required to sign up for a check-in time. Students will check in at their hall's Area Desk at their assigned time.
TBD Classes Begin Fall Semester classes begin.
September 7, 2026 Labor Day No classes are held and UM offices including the UM Housing Office are closed.
October 12, 2026 Indigenous People's Day No classes are held.
November 11, 2026 Veterans Day No classes are held and UM offices including the UM Housing Office are closed.
November 25-27, 2026 Thanksgiving Break No classes are held and UM office including the UM Housing Office are closed (November 26-27). Students can stay in their room without making arrangements or at an additional cost.
December 4, 2026 Winter Break Arrangements Deadline All arrangements for staying between Noon on Fall Closing Day and 9:00 am on Spring Opening Day, must be made by 5:00 pm to avoid a late arrangements fee and possibly being locked out.
TBD Finals Week Final exams are held.
TBD Closing Day Residence Halls close at Noon for Winter Break. All residents must leave by Noon unless prior arrangements have been made with the UM Housing Office.

Spring Semester 2027

January 11, 2027 First Day of Housing Residence Halls officially open for Spring Semester. Students may check in at their hall's Area Desk after 9:00 am.
TBD Classes Begin Spring Semester classes being.
January 18, 2027 Martin Luther King Jr. Day No classes are held and UM offices including the UM Housing Office are closed.
February 15, 2027 Presidents' Day No classes are held and UM offices including the UM Housing Office are closed.
TBD Spring Break No classes are held. Students can stay in their room without making arrangements or at an additional cost.
TBD Finals Week Final exams are held.
TBD Closing Day Residence Halls close at Noon for Summer Break. All residents must leave by Noon unless prior arrangements have been made with the UM Housing Office.
