Weekend Custodian
Overview
UM Housing offers a student employment position during the academic school year to assist our custodial department during the busy weekends in our residence halls. There will be 4 student weekend positions available!
Custodial Position Information
This position provides custodial services to an assigned hall on the weekends. Student custodians work within the Residence Halls to assist the “Weekend Warriors” (custodians) to help maintain the lobby areas, bathrooms, study lounges, trash chutes, etc. Prior work experience within custodial work is not required. We will train! The position begins Saturday, October 19, 2024 or as close to as possible, and employment continues until Sunday, May 4, 2025. This position starts at $15.00 per hour.
Student Custodial Application Process
All student candidates must complete an online to be considered for the position.
Applications open on October 4, 2024 and will remain open until positions are filled. Once an application is received, you will receive an email with information about scheduling an individual interview if you are moving onto the next phase of the selection process.
Individual Review
All candidates must attend an individual interview. This interview will consist of a question-and-answer session with the questions being more biographical in nature so we can get to know who you are, why you are interested in being a part of the Weekend Custodial staff, and what kind of jobs, experiences you have been involved in.
Hiring Notification
All Weekend Custodial candidates will be notified of their hiring status as soon as all positions are filled.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2.5 GPA
- Be a full-time student (12-18 Credits)
- Be in good conduct standing with the University
