The Community Assistant is a live-in staff member responsible for an assigned area within University Villages consisting of approximately 100 apartment units. They serve as a liaison between the University administration and the tenants within UV, foster an atmosphere for academic, social, cultural, and emotional growth by serving as a resource for the tenants and their families, and assist in the enforcement of all University and UV policies. This position is 20 hours per week and runs for a full calendar year. Please read the CA Position Description for more information about the CA position.
Compensation: CAs earn an apartment at University Villages and a small stipend based on their apartment assignment.
CA Application Process
Application
All CA candidates must complete an online CA Application to be considered for the position. All applications will be screened, and individual interviews will be offered to a select number of applicants.
Individual Interview
CA candidates who are offered an individual interview must participate in the interview to be considered for the position. This interview will consist of a question and answer session with the questions being more biographical in nature so we can get to know who you are, why you are interested in being a CA, and what kind of activities, jobs, and experiences you have been involved in.
Hiring Notification
All CA candidates will be notified of their hiring status in March, 2026, as the position begins on June 1, 2026.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2.25 GPA
- Be a full-time student, either graduate or undergraduate (12-18 credits)
- Be in good conduct standing with the University
- Interest in working with people
