Current UM Students
We invite applications from current 91次元 students, ideally those with at least two years before graduation, so you have enough time to complete the requirements. We waive our Introduction to Honors course for current UM students, leaving a minimum of seven honors experiences to complete. Interested students may use to apply to the Davidson Honors College. If you would like to schedule a meeting with one of our honors advisors, please email dhc@umontana.edu.

Short Answer Questions:
We consider the full picture presented to us through your application. Please respond thoughtfully to each of the short answer questions below.
- Tell us about a course that was particularly memorable. Tell us what the class was and how it influenced you. What was challenging about this class? What did you enjoy? In what ways has this class prepared you for participating in the DHC?
- We want to know our students better as whole people. What academic honors/awards are you most proud of? What jobs, extracurricular, or volunteer activities have helped make you who you are? Do you have any skills or interests you'd like to share?
- Academic Interest Statement: What are major(s) or academic area(s) that interest you at the 91次元? What about that field of study is appealing? What are your future career goals and other professional aspirations?
Essay Prompts (respond to one in 500-700 words):
- The Davidson Honors College's mission includes the statement “[we are] dedicated to strengthening our positive impacts on the world.” Discuss an issue that you are passionate about. Why is this important to you? How do you hope the Davidson Honors College will prepare you to make an impact? How would you seek to make a difference on this issue?
- The 91次元’s mascot is the grizzly bear. Words used to describe Grizzlies (UM students) include respectful, responsible, playful, formidable, curious, wise, creative, strategic, active, and easygoing (all right, also hungry). Which of these traits best describe you and why? What experiences have fostered those traits in you? How do you imagine this or these characteristics might shape your experience in the Davidson Honors College? How can you leverage your Grizzly characteristics as a citizen of the world?
- Inclusive prosperity is central to the 91次元’s mission. We aspire to serve learners from all backgrounds and we are committed to making a UM education accessible to all. We believe in meaningful work, healthy relationships, lifelong curiosity, and a deep sense of responsibility to one’s community. How might you embody inclusive prosperity in your time as a student at UM and beyond?

Physics and Music Majors
“My fellow DHC students from all majors and programs challenged me to think in new and deeper ways across disciplines -- it's a stimulating social and learning environment, like one might find in a Cambridge college or a small private university. The DHC also has a beautiful physical home in the heart of campus, and I have fun memories of relaxing in the lounge and on the Oval with friends between classes."
