Test security
ODE is committed to maintaining a secure, accessible, and distraction-reduced testing environment for all students. The ODE Testing Center maintains strict exam security to protect the integrity of assessments on behalf of the 91次元 faculty.
Academic integrity
Only authorized materials are permitted in testing spaces. Any student observed using unauthorized materials or resources during an exam will be reported to faculty. The ODE Testing Center may stop an exam if academic dishonesty is observed. Academic misconduct may result in an academic penalty determined by the faculty member and/or a disciplinary sanction under by the 91次元 Student Code of Conduct.
Testing Center staff
ODE regularly trains its professional staff and student employees and emphasizes test security to protect academic integrity.
Testing Coordinator
- Oversees exam management, scheduling, and administration
- Supervises student employees
- Monitors testing security and compliance with faculty instructions
Student employees
- Serve as proctors, readers, and scribes
- Assist with exam delivery and secure handling of testing materials
Exam security & confidentiality
Student proctors receive training on secure and ethical exam administration and are supervised by the Testing Coordinator at all times. Proctors monitor exam conditions and ensure students receive the correct amount of testing time.
When readers or scribes are required, confidentiality of exam content is strictly maintained. Readers and scribes are not currently enrolled in the course or are not pursuing the same course of study.
Use of a computer for testing
Students approved for this accommodation may use ODE Testing Center computers to type written or essay responses. Some students may also use approved screen readers or reading software to listen to exam questions. These computers use browse control software and prohibit access to the internet or other online resources, including AI.
Handling delivered exams
When faculty deliver an exam to the ODE Testing Center - via the ODE portal, email, or physical delivery - the Testing Coordinator securely matches the exam to the student scheduled to take it. Exams are handled and stored in accordance with ODE test security procedures.
Monitoring testing rooms
The ODE Testing Center's testing rooms are monitored by trained proctors and video surveillance systems to support exam security and academic integrity.
Testing sessions are recorded. Faculty may request access to video footage for up to 30 days following the exam date.
