ASUM Agencies

Bear Necessities is your on-campus basic needs hub. The Bear Necessities Office has access to resources including the UM Food Pantry, housing support, applications for resources like SNAP/Food Stamps & Medicaid, and some emergency funding options.
Bear Necessities is also always accepting donations! Any donations including clothing, hygiene products, and non-perishable foods are greatly appreciated.

ASUM Legal provides low-cost legal assistance for 91次元 students. Receive guidance in areas regarding academic grievances, alcohol and drug related offenses, consumer matters, criminal cases, document drafting, family law, and housing issues.

ASUM Childcare offers affordable, quality care for your child while you attend UM. Childcare has multiple programs, including childcare and preschool centers, school age summer programs, referral programs, and more! Visit their site for enrollment information and job openings.

ASUM Transportation and Parking Services work together to provide friendly, safe, and enjoyable access to Mountain Campus and Missoula College. Stop by or check out their website for all the info you need to bus, bike, walk, or drive to campus.
Medical Health Resources

Curry Health Center is the campus’s own medical center offering doctors, dentists and therapists who should be able to help you. For more information and to book an appointment visit Curry Health Center.

Mental Health Resources

Curry Health Center also offers a variety of mental health services for a wide variety of needs. Curry Counseling offers low-cost, confidential support. The Wellness Center also offers a variety resources including wellness coaching, the wellness wall, and more. Wellbeing appointments can be booked on the Curry Health Center website.

To receive STD testing services on campus, visit the Curry Health Center website to book an appointment. Other resources can be found at and the .
Assault Resources

The Student Advocacy Resource Center (SARC) is a free and confidential resource available to students who have experienced identity-based harm including assault, stalking, or other forms of interpersonal violence.
To file a police report, take the following steps depending on if the assault took place on or off campus:
- If on campus, Title IX or UM police
- If off campus, the Missoula police station
Regardless of where the incident took place, students may visit SARC for support in all parts of the reporting process.
Peer Support Resources

The Branch Center, located in the University Center, is home to multiple peer support resources on campus. Not only is it a common space for meeting and studying, but it also hosts several student affinity groups (including the Gender Equity Resource Center, Lambda, the Black Student Union, the Latine Student Union, and UM Allies) and the student-run radio station (KBGA).

Housing & Roommate Resources

If you live on campus and have concerns about your roommate, please reach out to your Resident Assistant (RA) and UM Housing. UM Housing is located in Turner Hall and available by phone at (406) 243-2611. If you have concerns about your roommate using banned substances, please reach out to your RA and UM Housing. Keep in mind, you will not get in trouble if you are asking for help under UM Housing's Medical Amnesty Policies.
If your roommate has, or has attempted, to physically or verbally assault you, your first step out to your RA and UM Housing. They will connect you with the Office of Conflict, Resolution, and Policy and UMPD. We also encourage all students to visit the Student Advocacy Resource Center (SARC) for additional support in any identity-based harm situation.

ASUM Bear Necessities offers housing navigation support for current UM students. This office assists students in finding housing in many ways, from narrowing down priorities to comparing living on and off campus, all the way up to finding an apartment and signing a lease. Appointments for Bear Necessities can be scheduled through Navigate.

Food & Nutrition Assistance

Located in UC 119, the UM Food Pantry provides food and other supplies to any student in need. Up-to-date hours, additional resources, and locations of all anonymous grab and go shelves can be found by following the link above.

Students in need of nutrition counseling covering topics such as wellness, allergies, medical restrictions, food intolerance, religious guidelines, or eating disorders can meet with a Registered Dietician through UM Dining.

A free food resource for all Missoulians, including UM students. This community food bank has no eligibility requirements and has staff available to assist you in signing up for additional support including SNAP, WIC, and more.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a government program that provides financial assistance monthly to single people and families in need of money for food. It does require an application and and has eligibility requirements.

Work or Club Environment

If you are experiencing conflict at your campus job and need additonal support, follow the link above and reach out to the Office of Conflict, Resolution, and Policy. If you are experiencing physical or verbal assault, you can also reach out to UMPD or SARC.
If you are experiencing conflict within your ASUM Student Group that cannot be resolved internally, feel free to reach out to the ASUM Business Manager at asum.businessmgr@mso.umt.edu. Alternatively, the ASUM Board on Member Organizations can meet to work towards a resolution, which is possible through completing the Conflict Report Form found on the ASUM forms webpage.
