Michaela Bruner, PharmD
Michaela is a clinical pharmacist at St. Vincent Intermountain and is originally from Park City, Montana. She completed her undergraduate training at Rocky Mountain College, then her PharmD degree at the 91次元. She trained as a PGY-1 pharmacy resident at St. Vincent before joining their pharmacy staff. She pursued board certification in critical care and is currently an ICU pharmacist at St. Vincent as well as the pharmacy residency program director. Her professional interests include critical care, infectious disease, and education.
Laurie Carter, MD
Dr. Carter grew up in a Chicago suburb and graduated from Loyola Stritch School of Medicine before moving to Washington, DC, where she completed her pediatric residency and served as chief resident at Children’s National Hospital. She then worked as a pediatric hospitalist at Kaiser Santa Clara Hospital in Northern California. In 2007, she moved to Missoula with her husband, who is from Great Falls, and their young sons. Over the years, Dr. Carter developed a strong interest in child abuse recognition and management while continuing her work as a pediatric hospitalist at Community Medical Center and Providence St. Patrick Hospital, where she also served on both hospitals’ trauma committees. Dr. Carter collaborates with local child welfare investigations through her work with First Step Resource Center, Missoula’s child advocacy center, and by participating in the county’s Just Response multidisciplinary team. She currently serves as the Child Abuse Champion for the Montana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and routinely provides education to first responder programs.
William Heuser, PharmD, MS, BCEMP, BCCCP, BCNSP, EMT-P, FP-C
William Heuser, PharmD, MS, BCEMP, BCCCP, BCNSP, EMT-P, FP-C is a clinical pharmacist, clinical toxicologist, critical care flight paramedic, and professor specializing in emergency medicine, resuscitation, and prehospital pharmacology. He brings extensive frontline experience across emergency departments, ICUs, and critical care transport, integrating advanced pharmacotherapy with practical EMS applications. William is a nationally recognized educator and frequent podium speaker, known for delivering high-level, case-based training tailored to both BLS and ALS providers. His clinical and academic work focuses on improving prehospital critical care, optimizing post–cardiac arrest management, and advancing evidence-based practice to support EMS systems in both rural and urban environments.
Todd Mohr, PA
Todd Mohr is a Physician Assistant working at St. James Healthcare in Butte. He has worked in the Emergency Department at St. James for 15 years. Todd grew up in Deadwood, South Dakota and became interested in helping others as a teenager when he joined the Volunteer Fire Department at age 14 as a Junior Volunteer. He became an Emergency Medical Technician and worked on the Ambulance at age 16. He joined the US Air Force at age 17 as a Fire Protection Specialist and quickly rose through the ranks. Todd served primarily as a Rescue Crew Chief and was responsible for motor vehicle accident patient extrication, aircraft crash rescue pilot, and was assigned to the Space Shuttle Rescue Team while stationed in Germany. He completed the Air Force Physician Assistant Program 25 years ago and was assigned to Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, Montana. He thoroughly enjoys the opportunities that Montana provides his family to spend time together in their passion for golfing, skiing, and hunting. His other noted patient care experiences include serving as a SWAT Medic and on Helicopter EMS. Todd is the Medical Director for several Volunteer EMS Services in Southwest Montana and believes it is his way to “give back to his roots” which has allowed him to have the “most blessed career experiences in the world!”
Clark Vowell, PharmD, BCPS
Clark Vowell is a clinical pharmacist who works for Intermountain Health. He worked as a hospital pharmacist for over 7 years before transitioning to working in ambulatory care in 2022. He specializes in heart failure and anticoagulation pharmacotherapy and finds fulfillment in helping patients feel better and improve their cardiac health. He values the interprofessional communication at St. Vincent’s. Outside of pharmacy, he is a volunteer ski patroller at Red Lodge Mountain and loves to spend time with his wife and two kiddos.
