Research Security Training
At The 91次元, we are committed to safeguarding the integrity of our research and ensuring compliance with federal regulations.Effective May 1, 2025, principal investigators (PIs), co-principal investigators (co-PIs), and Senior / Key personnel must complete annual Research Security Training. This requirement stems from National Security Presidential Memorandum-33 (NSPM-33) and is enacted by federal agencies.
Who Is Required to Take the Training? Research Security Training is required for PIs, Co-PIs and Senior/Key Personnel that are named in federally funded awards.
How Often is Training Required? Training is required to be completed annually. Completion dates may vary provided that no more than 12 months elapse between sessions.

How Do I Access the Training? Research Security Training is required for PIs, Co-PIs and Senior / Key personnel that are named on federally funded awards. You can take the training by selecting this link to or by following the method below:
- The training can be accessed by going to the MyUM page and select Employee.
- Scroll down to “Staff Resources” and select NEOED.
- You will log into NEOED through SSO (NetID and password).
- Once in NEOED, look for “Browse Training Catalog” (you may need to scroll down to find it.
- If Research Security Training does not come up, type it into the search bar. Click Enroll on the course card.
- You may need to accept the pop-up or disable the pop-up blocker to view the course
- LAST STEP: At the end of the training, you will be issued a certificate of completion. Add your name to the certificate and save it as a pdf. (This is done by clicking “print” on the certificate and instead of selecting a printer option, scroll to find “Save as pdf.” After you have saved your certificate, click “exit” in the upper right corner of the window. If you are using a Safari browser, please take a screenshot of the certificate after you have typed your name on it and save it. The print to PDF feature has had some glitches with Safari. All PIs will be required to provide their certificate along with those of associated co-PIs and other senior/key personnel when submitting any new award proposal through Cayuse. Please work with your OSP Pre-Award officer to ensure all necessary certifications are completed with new award submissions. Please note that federal agencies require that each PI, co-PI, and other senior/key personnel have completed research security training within the 12 months prior to proposal submission.
