Priority Registration
Autumn and spring course registration opens in tiers during the priority registration period. Students are encouraged to register during these priority registration windows to have a better chance of registering for preferred classes.
Time tickets in GrizPortal display the date that each student may begin registering for classes. Priority is based on class standing (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, post-baccalaureate, or graduate), unless the student belongs to a special registration group.
Note: The information on this page is intended for continuing, transfer, and graduate students. New incoming freshmen are registered through core course registration for their first semester.

Priority Registration Schedule
Autumn priority registration begins mid-spring semester, and spring priority registration begins in mid-autumn semester. Summer sessions do not have priority registration windows. Instead, registration opens for all students at the same time.
Time tickets are generated shortly before advising begins for the priority registration period.
Students may register during and after their scheduled day and time.
How to View Your Time Ticket
Time tickets in GrizPortal display a date and time range for self-service registration.
Step One: Log In
Log in to GrizPortal using your NetID and password.
Step Two: Student Services
Find and click on the Student Self-Services card.
Step Three: Student Profile
On the Student Services menu, select the Student Profile option under Academic Records.
Step Four: Semester
Change the term in the top left corner of the Student Profile screen to the term you plan to register for.
Step Five: Registration Notices
Click the Registration Notices link in the top right corner of the Student Profile screen.
Step Six: Time Ticket
Time tickets are listed at the bottom of the Registration Notices popup. From indicates the earliest date & time a student may register for classes. To is the latest date & time a student can use self-service registration for that semester.
In the following screenshot, the student can begin class registration on February 21, 2017 at 8 a.m. Their registration window ends on September 21, 2017 at 5 p.m.
