Improvements to Recruitment and Hiring at UM
Dear colleagues,
I’m pleased to announce exciting changes to recruitment and hiring at UM. The implementation of NeoEd and Interfolio, our new recruitment and hiring platforms, are a part of UM’s strategic planning and implementation efforts related to Annual Playbook Objective 6, “Attract and support employees through improved recruiting, retention, and management efforts.” Adopting these new platforms is one of many significant investments UM is making in its greatest asset: our people.
For non-faculty employee recruitment and hiring, we have replaced SilkRoad with NeoEd, which connects with BANNER and offers a user-focused applicant experience, including interview self-scheduling, a significant improvement compared to the past. Its automated features will lighten search committee workloads. Please visit Griz Hub to sign up for training sessions on how to use these new tools.
Recruitment and hiring represents the first phase of the NeoEd implementation. In the coming months, we will add training and performance management tools so that eventually, non-faculty employees will experience recruitment, hiring, training, and performance management on a single platform.
Faculty recruiting and hiring is moving from SilkRoad to Interfolio, a widely used platform for faculty recruitment. Prospective faculty will be able to apply for positions at UM very easily, enhancing our competitiveness with other institutions. As some of you know, the Provost’s Office started using Interfolio for faculty evaluation last year. With this change, faculty recruitment, hiring, and evaluation will all take place on the same platform.
UM’s employment website, www.umt.edu/jobs, connects prospective employees to job opportunities on both NeoEd and Interfolio.
I’d like to say a huge thank you to the cross-campus team that implemented the recruitment phase for the NeoEd project: Kit Edington, Marcie Briggs, Eli Bowe, Jack Broadway, CeeJay Brown, Corey Cardoza, Will Hanley, Steve Hoffmann, Sierra Jacob, Mark Lannen, Mac McComas, Libby Newman, Steven Oswalt, Jared Rutherford, Manu Samuela, Bradly Shoen, Jordyn Smith, Kelley Turner, Bonnie Tucker, Mary Twardos, and Jordon Wallin.
I’d also like to express my gratitude to Amy Kinch, Deputy Chief of Staff in the President’s Office, and Zach Rossmiller, Chief Information Officer, for assisting with this transformative change in support of UM’s People and Culture.
