Commercial Driver's License
Missoula College/UM Bitterroot is committed to providing a comprehensive Commercial Driver License (CDL) training program that offers an ideal learning environment for new truck drivers to develop driving skills in a commercial vehicle and prepares the drivers to obtain their Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
Whether it is hauling freight or making deliveries, a wide range of job opportunities await once you obtain your CDL. This accelerated training course prepares you for Montana Class A licensure through a combination of online instruction and hands-on, "on-the-road" experience. You'll gain foundational and safe truck driving skills and a solid understanding of relevant DOT rules and regulations. A refresher course is also available for previously certified drivers whose CDLs have expired or for those looking to sharpen their existing skills.
Heavy Equipment Operation
The Heavy Equipment Operation Program provides students a basic understanding of fundamental machine function and capabilities and is designed to develop apprentice-level skills in the safe operation of heavy equipment. Students are trained to safely and properly operate and maintain a variety of heavy equipment, including crawler-tractors, scrapers, front-end loaders, excavators, backhoes, and dump trucks.
