UM Protolab
From Concept to Creation: The 91次元 Protolab
Where research meets real-world application through mechatronics, advanced prototyping, and edge innovation.
Engineering Innovation at Every Level

The 91次元 Protolab is a hands-on innovation hub specializing in mechatronics—the integration of mechanical, electrical, and software systems to bring complex ideas to life. Purpose-built to accelerate research, entrepreneurship, and experiential learning, the Protolab connects UM students, faculty, staff, and collaborators with expert mentors, advanced tools, and end-to-end prototyping capabilities.
Our expertise spans hardware and electronics design, sensor development, robotics, drones, remote sensing platforms, embedded systems, and AI/ML/computer vision applications at the edge. Whether you're developing a field-deployable device, a lab automation prototype, or a next-gen research instrument, we help transform concepts into functional, testable solutions.
