Application Process
Applications for University Villages are accepted at anytime, however, you must be accepted for admission to the 91次元 or Missoula College and have a valied university issued NetID before the housing application can be started, and you must meet all eligibility requirements before moving in.
- Applications accepted year-round.
- Assignments made by priority, then date applied, then requested move-in date.
- $350 damage deposit required within 48 hours of offer.
Once you have applied, your application will stay active unless you fail to respond to update requests, fail to respond to or accept apartment offers, fail to enroll in the required number of credits within 12 months of the application date, or remove yourself from the waiting list.
Once an apartment has been offered and accepted, the tenant must pay a $350.00 damage deposit to hold the apartment. The deposit must be received within 48 hours of the apartment offer. The tenant must pay the $350.00 damage deposit, first months rent and sign a rental agreement before the assigned check-in date.
Assignment Priority Order
Apartments become available on a rolling basis as current residents vacate. Apartment offers are made by priority first, then by date applied, and lastly by requested move in date.

The date indicated on the application as the earliest housing date wanted will affect your position on the waiting list. If a unit becomes available prior to the date you have indicated, you may not be offered that apartment; therefore, you will want to put down the earliest date you are willing to start paying rent on a unit. The university reserves the right to adjust the priority order or establish additional priority groups as needed to support departmental needs and university initiatives.

Arriving and Checking In
Once your apartment assignment has been made, you will receive confirmation via email of your assignment and check-in date. To check in and receive keys and access to your University Villages apartment, please come to the University Villages Office at 1 Elkhorn Court. The University Villages Office is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-5:00 pm. If you arrive outside of these times, please call the Community Assistant on Duty at (406) 552-3375 to check into your apartment. When arriving to University Villages, please bring a photo ID for check-in. Due to our Quiet Hours policy, you may only move your belongings in between the hours of 8:00 am-9:00 pm.
When checking into University Villages please bring a photo ID. Please note that you will be required to have paid your prorated rent to receive your keys to your apartment. Please note that rent can be paid at the UM Housing Office in Turner Hall Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-4:00 pm. The prorated rent charge, which is stated on the confirmation letter, is based on the date a tenant has agreed to take possession of the apartment. This date is specified on your rental agreement. Upon check-in, you will also receive additional important information concerning University Villages.
