Future at Work-Health Science Pathway
Missoula College is dedicated to education, workforce development, and meeting community health needs. The shortage of healthcare providers is widespread in Montana. This grant award would allow us to expand upon the work started with the Future at Work 2022-2023 funding. This funding would allow for the creation of a more streamlined approach to health profession education from the high school through the post-secondary level. This will be achieved by focusing on the development of pre-apprenticeship programs at the high school level that includes the Missoula College Health Essentials Micro-credential, prior learning assessments for those that completed the Bitterroot College CNA training program, and apprenticeship programs in Medical Assisting and Licensed Practical Nursing. This will expand high school students' and adult learners' options as they can continue their education through stackable credentials and degrees.
