Admission
Master of Physician Associate Studies (MPAS) Admission Application Instructions
Applying for admission to the Physician Associate Studies program is a two-step process:
First: Complete an application through CASPA (Centralized Application Service – Physician Associate).
As part of this application process, the following must be received and verified by CASPA no later than the published deadline (October 1, 12:00 PM EST) for an application to be considered.
- Official Transcripts submitted directly to CASPA.
- CASPA electronic application with all questions answered, including both required and supplemental sections.
- Essay Questions uploaded in CASPA.
- Three Letters of Recommendation, at least one letter must be written by a provider (PA, MD, DO, NP). An email link will be sent directly by CASPA to the person completing the recommendation, who can then upload a letter to CASPA.
- Detailed application completion and submission instructions are available on the website's website page.
Second (only applicable following notification of acceptance to the program): Applicants who have been accepted to the MPAS program will be notified directly and then will be instructed to submit a . Applications are not complete until this application has been received and processed.
As part of this process, applicants must do the following:
- Enter names and timeframes of all colleges and universities attended.
- List names of the three references provided to CASPA (see above).
- Pay the application fee of $70.
Application Deadline for Physician Associate Studies Program at UM
- Fall Semester - Online applications must be submitted to and verified by CASPA prior to the October 1, 12:00 PM EST deadline. Applications open annually in late April via CASPA. We highly recommend that students submit their applications as soon as possible since the CASPA verification process can take two to three weeks to complete. If you are waiting for your completed Fall transcripts to submit your application, we recommend submitting with what you have and updating your application with the completed transcripts at a later date, but prior to the October 1 deadline. A completed application includes official transcript(s) on file in CASPA. Applications submitted after the October 1 deadline will not be considered.
