Barrier-Free Access for All
LEAD is committed to ensuring barrier-free access to all digitally enhanced learning. Our team provides support to faculty and staff who develop content within the Canvas LMS, and any user who encounters a barrier is encouraged to contact our office. We work with vendors to continuously improve the system and welcome your feedback.
Universal Design for Learning and digital inclusion both address a broad range of issues that are focused on making technology available to all people. By emphasizing Universal Design Principles in the development of online, hybrid and face-to-face course supplements, LEAD supports the construction of online learning experiences that take into account varying learning preferences and accessibility issues.
Why is Digital Accessibility Important?
Panorama Accessibility Platforms and DocHub
The 91次元 has implemented the Panorama Digital Accessibility Platform to help instructors and content creators easily improve the accessibility of their digital materials. Integrated with Canvas, Panorama provides real-time feedback to identify and fix accessibility issues.
Learn more in the Panorama Digital Accessibility Platform Tip Sheet. Panorama also provides a centralized, cloud-based digital media repository to help instructors and departments organize content and see accessibility scoring in one place.

Campus Accessibility Support
LEAD works in conjunction with the other campus programs to provide the following services to ensure barrier-free access for all.

Accessibility Testing and Review
LEAD works closely with Accessible Technology Services (ATS) to review documents, software, learning tools, and LTI integrations for accessibility. The instructional design team can also help check course shells for accessibility. Please contact LEAD to request a review.

Accessible Course Materials
The Mansfield Library can assist faculty in finding and/or creating accessible instructional resources, providing tools and space for creation as well as research and study. LEAD can help faculty integrate these accessible materials into their Canvas courses.

Accessibility and Accommodations
ODE ensures that programs at the 91次元 are accessible and usable by students with disabilities and works with students, faculty, staff, departments, and schools to ensure accessibility. LEAD partners with ODE to assist faculty and staff in creating accessible courses and implementing student accommodations in Canvas.
