After accommodations are approved
The Alexander Blewett III School of Law follows a specific process for students requesting approved accommodations.
Once your accommodations are approved by ODE, the following steps will occur:
Step 1: Notification of Law School staff
ODE will send your accommodation letter to the administrative associate manager and the assistant director of Student Services.
Step 2: Implementation meeting
You must schedule and meet with both the administrative associate manager and the assistant director of Student Services.
- Purpose: To review how your accommodations will be implemented in your courses.
- If your accommodations include lecture recordings, you will be required to sign a recording agreement.
Step 3: Ongoing communication
The law school will communicate with you as needed to support your accommodations. For questions or concerns, please contact your access consultant.
Technical standards
Students must meet the law school's technical standards with or without reasonable accommodations and maintain related satisfactory demonstration of these standards for progression through the program.
Consultation on accommodation reasonability
- If an accommodation appears to conflict with the law school’s technical standards, ODE will consult with the Dean of Students to assess its reasonableness.
- This consultation will be conducted without disclosing the student's identity for anonymity.
