IFYE Program Director
Director Cody Munson
My name is Cody Munson, I’m the IFYE Program Director and Instructor. I am a Missoula Native, in that I was born and raised here in Missoula and I am Indigenous. I am a First Generation Sqelixw (Séliš/Salish & Ql̓ispé/Pend d’Oreille) Descendant, among my other tribal affiliations: Couer d'Alene, Spokane, Omaha, Shoshone, Nez Perce.
I am a Lover of many things: my family and my friends, the great outdoors and being active in them, as I'm an ice climber, skier, snowshoer, hiker, ‘folffer,’ etc., I enjoy a wide variety of sports (both playing and watching) and quite a few different teams (my favorite pro teams are based in Chicago) but I Love our UM Grizzlies, riding a Harley Davidson from time to time, and I love all sorts of creative expression including but not limited to: photography, painting, drawing, playing and writing music on my bass guitar/with my bands, attending concerts, visiting art galleries/museums, etc.
I consider myself lucky to hold 2 degrees from the 91次元, one in Broadcast Journalism Production (with an interest on photography), and the other in Education (Curriculum Design, Instruction, and Implementation), with a minor in Fine Arts. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you in class throughout the year and helping you start your journey to achieve your goals and graduate with your degree as well, so we can achieve our goals together in life, and we can build a bright future together for our future generations.
