Graduate Assistantships
Each academic year, the Graduate Programs through the College of Business award a select number of Graduate Assistantships to individuals who complete the formal application process and meet the position qualifications. For questions, please contact businessgradprograms@umontana.edu.
Graduate Assistant applications are open from December 1, 2025, to March 01, 2026
Qualifications
- Admitted or applied to a College of Business Graduate Program by the deadline of February 1, 2026.
- Outstanding academic record.
- Relevant experience based on the business school's needs.
- Graduate Assistant application submitted by March 1, 2026.
Benefits
- Tuition support (University and College of Business fees not included).
- Stipend of $5,000 per semester.
Responsibilities
- Work 19 hours per week for assigned faculty members.
- Maintain a minimum of 6 credits per semester and good academic standing.
- One assistantship is reserved and funded for a student who is a tribal citizen or member.

Tech Graduate Assistantship
The position manages the College of Business technology help desk/lab. This position also offers the ability to work hourly during summer and winter break.
Qualifications
- Outstanding academic record.
- Must be attending classes in Missoula.
- Relevant experience based on the College of Business needs.
- The graduate assistant application must be submitted by Feb 17, 2026 for priority consideration.

- Stipend of $5,700 per semester.
Responsibilities
- Work 19 hours per week overseeing the College of Business Tech Lab
- Maintain a minimum of 6 credits per semester and good academic standing.
The GBB Technology Team comprises members who work together to meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff at the College of Business while planning, operating, and maintaining the College of Business Tech Lab. The graduate technology assistantship offers a student the chance to gain hands-on experience in the technical day-to-day support for the college. The student will benefit from integrating expertise in the technology while pursuing a graduate business degree.
Responsibilities include:
- Work 19 hours per week overseeing the College of Business Tech Lab
- Maintain a minimum of 6 credits per semester and good academic standing.
- Serve as a member of the technology team.
- Provide technology support to faculty members using technology in their teaching, research, or service activities.
- Assist faculty with office computer support, including new computer rollouts, computer imaging, and software support.
- Provide support for graduate assistants, and students when possible
- Provide support for classroom technology
- Serve as a point of contact for communication with central IT
- Work closely with the Network Administrator to ensure the efficient operation of the network and servers in the Gallagher Building.
- Maintain Tech Budget
- Oversee the College of Business Tech Lab, student computer lab, and classroom labs
- Manage Help Desk student technicians
