Fascinating Facts: Douglas-fir 鈥淒ouglas-fir is the hallmark of the Northwest鈥檚 timber industry, the state tree of Oregon and our customary wild Christmas Tree鈥 - Stephen F. Arno. Commonly living more than 500 years, the oldest 1275, and typically growing up 150 feet tall. Its timber is used for plywood, poles, log cabins, veneer, flooring and construction due to its exceptional strength, hardness and durability.
