UM Staff Senate Statement of Appreciation and Support During Presidential Transition
The 91次元 Staff Senate extends our sincere thanks to President Seth Bodnar for eight years of dedicated service to the 91次元.
President Bodnar has led UM with genuine care for the people who make this place run every day. Staff Senate is grateful not only for his steady leadership, but for the way he consistently showed up for staff—listening, engaging directly, and treating staff as essential partners in the work of the University. His presidency helped strengthen our campus community, and his commitment to shared governance improved collaboration across the institution. We also appreciate his focus on building a stronger UM for the future through the mission of inclusive prosperity.
We also want to thank Commissioner Christian for meeting with Staff Senate last week and for his proactive engagement during this transition. We support his plan to make a timely hire to avoid a protracted search process, and we appreciate his commitment to transparency and continuity for the campus community.
Staff Senate looks forward to being meaningfully involved in the search and hiring process, and to continuing the collaborative work that supports UM’s people and mission.
