The purpose of the Research Council is to serve as an advisory body to the vice president for research and creative scholarship on matters pertaining to the development of research and creative activities at the 91次元.
2018 Research Council
Purpose and Goal
It is envisioned that members of the Research Council will be 91次元-centered, as opposed to touting the accolades of any one department, program, or center, and focus on interdisciplinarity. The Council will:
- Focus on immediate feedback to help inform the University Planning Committee (UPC):
- Develop metrics to measure research and creative scholarship (RCS) productivity (See 2015 Research Strategic Plan)
- Collate a summary of University-wide RCS productivity based on these metrics.
- Offer feedback to UPC as needed.
- Revisit other aspects of Research Strategic Plan, with an eye towards interdisciplinary innovations (e.g., a “Cluster Hire” model).
