Pending Incompletes - Access to Materials & Assigning Final Grades

Dear Instructor,
Since you assigned an incomplete grade to at least one student over the past year, we've gathered a few bits of information you may find helpful.
Assign Final Grade
If your student has finished the course, you may submit their final grade from your UM email account to grading@umontana.edu.
We will replace the "I" with the alternate grade you provided during final grade entry once the extension date has passed unless you have already requested a grade change.
Extensions
To modify an extension date, email the student's name, UMID, and course details from your UM email account to grading@umontana.edu. The maximum extension is one calendar year from the date the Incomplete was assigned. Department chairs may approve extensions beyond one year.
Canvas Access
Submit a ticket to reopen your Canvas course for your student if you haven't already. You will need the student's name, UM ID, course information, and expected completion date if different than the default of one year.
Moodle Access - Ends June 1
For incompletes in past courses in Moodle, your students can access those courses only until 11 p.m. on June 1, 2025. After that date, instructors, staff, and students will no longer have access to Moodle. Students will need to ensure their work is complete with sufficient time for you to evaluate their final grade.
If you have not already requested access to Moodle for incompletes, be sure to submit a ticket soon as possible. Please do not grant guest access for students in Moodle, as guest access is not sufficient to finish incompletes.
