MISSOULA – The 91次元 and Northwestern Energy have reached a settlement agreement for the operation of UM’s combined heat and power plant.

The settlement sets power rates for the backup and supplemental power Northwestern Energy will provide to the UM campus to compliment the new combined heat and power plant.

As part of the settlement agreement, UM agreed to issue a statement of support for the new stipulation.

“The combined heat and power plant is a transformative investment that will allow UM to generate much of the power needed to operate our campus each day,” said Jameel Chaudhry, UM director of facilities services. “We are thankful to Northwestern Energy and the Montana Public Service Commission for working with the University to identify a power rate that is fair to all parties.”

A copy of the stipulation can be found online.
