Christine Nyiranshimiyimana, Alumni
As a part-time lecturer at the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) in Rwanda, the English Language Institute significantly enhanced my language skills in speaking, writing, reading, and listening. Now, I can deliver my courses in English with confidence and ease. Additionally, I collaborate with diverse individuals from various contexts worldwide, allowing me to engage in enriching exchanges and broaden my perspectives. -
Esther Labonte, Alumni
As an alumna of UM’s English Language Institute (ELI), my experience sharpened my English skills, which I've applied to international health promotion and human rights work. From leading public health campaigns in Haiti with Mininiter of Health, RTI to advocating for women's and LGBTI+ rights with Advocates Without Borders, CALSDH and EQUITAS, ELI was key to my success. My current work-study role managing GEOS' s social media continues to reflect the values of global engagement I developed at ELI, inspiring me to make a positive impact worldwide. -
Christelle Dohou, Alumni
In 2022, I had the opportunity to join the English Language Institute (ELI), which serves non-native speakers of English who wish to improve their English language skills for any given reason at the 91次元 (UM). Originally from Benin, my stay in Missoula was a life-changing experience.
Today, I am very comfortable dealing with companies worldwide, and this is a kind of freedom you acquire by breaking down language barriers. Being bilingual opens the door to unlimited opportunities for business and making a global impact

An avid American football fan and player, Taisei has deepened his appreciation for the sport while connecting with others who share his passion. "The energy of games here is inspiring," he says.
Taisei credits the Global Engagement Office for their invaluable support during his transition. "Their dedication to international students has truly enhanced my experience," he notes.
