Jeannie Swain, PharmD
Where did you attend pharmacy school?
91次元
Where did you do your residency?
St. Joseph Medical Center, Tacoma WA
Within your specialty, do you have sub-specialty areas of practice that you particularly enjoy?
It used to be critical care, but I am now enjoying inpatient internal medicine.
What do you most enjoy about practicing Family Medicine?
The FMRWM residents & attendings keep me on my pharmacy toes - I learn new things every day. It is a positive team environment in which to tackle complex clinical issues. We have some of the most interesting patients in the hospital and I enjoy the variety. I also appreciate when the patient discharges and is going to follow up with a FMRWM provider.
What brought you to Montana?
I was not born here but have lived here most of my life.
Why did you choose to be part of the FMRWM?
Even before the position was open, I had wanted to be the Silver Team pharmacist at St. Patrick Hospital. As a hospital pharmacist, I enjoyed my interactions with the medical residents and felt I had built a good rapport with the Hospitalist teams.
What are some of your interests outside of the clinic or classroom?
Check out - that takes up most of my time outside of work! And a child in travel hockey takes up the rest...
What do you love about Western Montana?
The seasons, the mountains, the mountain bike and hiking trails, the lakes, the skiing, the people. It is a great place to raise an active family, too.
