Where did you attend medical school?
The University of Michigan Medical School
Where did you do your residency?
Obstetrics & Gynecology residency at Kaiser San Francisco
Within your specialty, do you have sub-specialty areas of practice that you particularly enjoy?
Labor & Delivery, obstetrics in general, and complex family planning
What do you most enjoy about practicing Family Medicine?
I am an OBGYN by training and I love working on Labor & Delivery. It is such a happy, anxious, and action-packed experience and I appreciate the opportunity to go through it with patients to help guide, educate, and care for them.
What do you enjoy most about teaching?
I want every resident to be the best clinician they can be. This means teaching them what I know, letting them teach me what they know, and staying up to date on evidence-based medicine. Providing thoughtful, patient-centered, evidence-based care is a collaborative process that continually changes and challenges us - by working together we can come closer to mastering this art.
What brought you to Montana?
My husband grew up in Missoula and loved it here. When we had our daughter Summer, we wanted her to have the same idyllic childhood.
Why did you choose to be part of the FMRWM?
I love to teach and work with residents. I also appreciate the academic rigor of a training program. I am specifically excited to help train these residents in obstetric care so that they feel comfortable and confident working on Labor & Delivery in their future careers if they want to.
What are some of your interests outside of the clinic or classroom?
I love to bake, read, exercise, and sit in the sun 🙂 I also spend a lot of time with family and friends, both in Missoula and around the country.
What do you love about Western Montana? It's gorgeous! And the summer is fantastic 🙂
