CHARGEÂ Â
The 91´ÎԪ’s Advisory Council on Inclusive Access and Success (ACIAS) fosters Inclusive Prosperity by promoting broad educational access and success. The ACIAS monitors, supports, and provides counsel regarding the University’s efforts to create a learning and working environment in which all people – no matter their backgrounds, hometowns, life experiences, religious beliefs, abilities, economic circumstance, personal and social identities, or political views – experience a UM learning and working environment that cultivates belonging and robust intellectual growth.
The ACIAS carries out its charge through the following activities:
COUNSEL
- Acts as a partner to and advises the president on topics related to the University’s efforts to foster broad access to a learning and working environment that cultivates belonging and robust intellectual growth.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
- Monitors progress on the Inclusive Access and Success Plan and provides feedback on new/improved strategies that will result in a more inclusive campus.
- Collaborates to support implementation of the Inclusive Access and Success Plan.
INFORMATION AND EDUCATION
- Provides support (through sponsorship/co-sponsorship, communication, or planning) for events and activities that promote belonging and understanding across difference.
RECOGNITION
- Oversees the Nancy Borgmann Diversity Award process.
- Support the Student Achievement Award process.
- Oversees the awarding of IAS-related mini-grants
